One Deep Breath this week posted the most beautiful photo as our prompt (and new header) along with the word, evening. Stop by their site to see the photo and the accompanying haiku. It is well worth your time, and you will tumble on links to other wonderful haiku.
Yellow refuses
to give way to maudlin gray
Orange joins the fight

Evening creeps up
folds of rolling thunder
hide its path of stealth

Fantastic photos -- beautiful light and contrast. Really nice haiku, the first being my favorite -- I love the colors and the way they fight. Very clever! And in the second haiku, I love the image of the evening creeping.
:)
I love the yellow refusing to give way, so true of summer evenings.
Hi Marcia,
I like the colors creeping.
Just beautiful...both the haikus and the photos!
These are very active evenings! And strong images: nice.
great photos, and i absolutely love that first haiku! such a clever idea!
A great combination of pictures and words!
Beautiful photos and well-matched haiku! I really like the patterns and play of light on clouds, and your photos captured some neat examples.
Lovely post. The photos are wonderful AND the words! I liked the way the colors tried to hold back the night.
That first one could be about my moods these days. :-) Nice haiku, photos, too.
I like the yellow part. I was just reading The Jesus Creed last night and learned of VanGogh's late attraction to yellow. It was symbolic in his paintings, of redemption rolling in.
Why do I love haiku so much? Maybe it's the simplicity. And yours are wonderfully rich.
Hi y'all. I have moved to Wordpress, but left these comments open. That however has added to the confusion, mine that is. All comments but the last one are on wordpress. I am responding to them there. But:
L.L. Barkatt - I am flattered that you found these rich, thank you so much.
