Late Night Realizations
Oh!
No!
Panic
chokes my heart
eyes search for time piece
please, don't let it be midnight yet
I
must
write one
before the
stroke of midnight comes,
it is NaPoWriMo month!

24th Annual Skagit County Tulip Festival Notes
Oh,
look,
a field!
Excitement. . .
crushed by spent flowers
outnumbering bright red tulips.
------
Red lips
yellow pouts
green lines
twist from
cracked earth.
------
Fields
spawn
colors
predators
trespass between rows
Human feet crush stems of life.
----
One
orange
in sea
of pink or
purple massed plantings;
dropped by human or nature's way?
-----
his face
showed the enormity
of his job
his florescent vest
and orange flag
spoke of dangers he faced
as he approached warily to control
the mobs
that threatened nature:
those who crossed the forbidden line,
who dared
to walk
between
rows
of
tulips.
I felt for him today.
A thankless job.
