One Deep Breath's prompt: Poetry of the Sea
driftwood abandoned
once lazing on smooth currents
picked up and hurled
~~~
ocean lays in wait
for life momentum to build
worthy crescendo
I'm driftwood waiting for a crescendo...
Thanks. Lovely as always.
This Eclectic Life - I think I've been both, just thrown out on the beach and still adrift waiting on that crescendo. Thank you for commenting (and the thanks).
there's something very poignant about the image of driftwood abandoned.
i liked the surprise strength of the ocean's hurling in contrast to the laziness of the driftwood (obviously the result of some very strong life momentum!) love the second haiku - there is so much in it.
Crafty Green Poet - abandonment of any kind, I think, is poignant.
Unfolding Rose - I'm glad you saw the surprise strength in the ocean's hurling of the driftwood.
thank you both for commenting.
Love that first one. A bit like life for us all, sometimes...:-)
Roswila - it is a bit like life isn't it. Thank you for commenting.
I like the first one very much with its concrete image and understatement.
The second doesn't do anything for me -- it seems prosaic, cliched and too well meaning.
Ackworth Born - I'm glad you liked my first one and I understand what you are saying about the second one. Thank you for commenting/critiquing. I appreciate both.
