I wrote it before I started my poetry blog, but it is one I really want to share. Post includes a link to Safe Haven Laws in the United States, not all states have the same law. . .

If you aren't familiar with Safe Haven laws, they are designed to give a young mother an alternative to abandoning a newborn baby on a doorstep or in a field as this one was, but if the young mothers don't know about it, it doesn't really prevent it, does it.
