30. Aging, Depersonalized

Aging, Depersonalized

two
leaves
crumble
side by side
once life hydrated
now coated with other's manure.

This concludes NaPoWriMo 2007. What fun!

How many ways can copyright be spoken? I'm running out. Please, read my words, read into my words, read between the lines, discuss them, but do no copy them. Thank you.

29. Hide 'n Seek

If
we
hide
not
seek

life finds us anyway.

If
we
seek
not
hide

we live that life.

Good morning, please, these words are the result of my labor, do not copy, but if you choose to link, that's great. Thank you.

28. One

one voice
expels

one word
defines actions

one angst
curtails life movement

one smile
brings heart to mind.

27. Only a Suggestion

Pondered Suggestions

toss
your hair
in wild abandonment
in the face of despair

click
your heals
with determination
in the face of homesickness

throw
your body
across the puddle
in the face of danger

kick
your feet
out from under
in the face of egocentricity

write
your words
with pure heart
in the face of truthfulness.

26. Life Lemonade, to be continued?

Make mine unsweetened

No fretting over villanelle
or poetry by guerrilla warfare
but rather squeeze them
. . . into lemonade

and picture me in my old age
more poetic than one old gray mare
I'd rather turn life
. . . into lemonade

in theory I will then become
a "matroness" of laissez faire
and hope they, too, turn
. . . into lemonade.

and require less sweetener
or tiptoed avoidance and care
to turn their lives
. . . into lemonade.

Self Imposed Isolation

24. Brain Games, of I

Brain Games - in four parts

I
seek
that which
drives anger
but find frustration
as brain clamps down to protect source.

I
try
to see
familiar
shapes through cold dense fog
I see instead life reflected.

I
fight
my mind's
boring deep
into past trauma,
and reach for remote's fast forward.

I
force
life scenes
to pause first
to watch love spread
as sun lights and rain refreshes.

Yo, these are my creations, popped out of my head, so, if you find them inspirational, or see them as drivel, or just plain don't get them, feel free to link to them, but please don't copy them. They are my words in the word order my brain chose to make them. Thanks.

22. Family Life, to be continued

Family Life, to be continued. . .

Forks dig in
shredded pride flies out:
Pass the mashed potatoes, please,
and
the
butter.

Forks dig in
shredded bark flies out:
Move the wheelbarrow, please,
and
the
umbrella.

Forks dig in
shredded carrot flies out:
John, clean up the floor, please,
and
your
brother.

Forks dig in
shredded skin flies out:
Watch my foot, please,
and
your
temper.

21. Word Thoughts, to be continued

Semantics

mulch or shredded bark,
semantics
don't count
when
dust threatens
to suffocate
our words.

---------------

Internalize

one
word
begets
another
to become a phrase
celebrating life's inner muse

-------------

I want more

shadows
and shifting sands
autumn leaves
and dandelions
hot and cold
fire and ice
words
only
words,
but more.

And so the tired and cranky middle-aged woman says: my words, my effort, don't bother taking them, they only suit me, not you. . . but if you would like to share them via a link, go for it. It would make me smile, too.

20. His Wife

as
a
boomer,
just what is,
in the second half
of your life the very best part

they
asked
and he
replied this:
bringing the best part
of my life into the second.

MeeAugraphie

Please, leave my words here. They are not yours to take, I earned these.

19. Sunburned Dreams

Sunburned Dreams

Living on acres and acres,
our children and children's
children
wandering in and out,
except when my home made
sign was posted:
Keep Out: Genius At Work

For them the sign would mean
their grandmother was
waxing poetic words
(certainly not the floor)
and needed a moment's peace.

Only he and I
would know the naked truth
behind the sign:
that poetry
(of the written
sort) takes only
moments in time;
the genius at work
behind the doors
was really letting
nature have its
due - and the two
of us, too.

Today, my dreams
are sunburned by
life realities, the ten
was only one
(but a magnificent one, at that)
the acres became one third
(of one)
and will become much
less than soon
and the one third is
not buoyed by currents
of laughter from youth
(except the boys next door)
but I (we) still have moments
of waxing poetic

and, better late than never,
future little ones
of the magnificent one
(and his better half)
may someday
cross the country on planes
or trains or magic carpets
to see my sign in person,
Keep Out, Genius At Work

Only time will tell just which
naked truth will be
behind that sign.

Ah, an attempt at really writing the poems I joked about for Thursday Thirteen this week. So: my words, my attempt at taking an off the wall title and making it work. . . link to it, laugh at it, or ignore it, but, please, the words are mine. You can have your own go at the titles, though!

18. Building Blocks of Life

He left
late,
another stolen moment,
his first job
within
a stone's throw reach.

I'd see him much later
for tea and apple pie
(or other fattening stuff!)

He rarely spends a day
without
calling
on the phone
rather like tossing
his beloved dog a bone
that's slobbered over
between tail wags and barks
another stolen moment

He called early,
still
close by,
asking my preference
in scone or loaf
(or other fattening stuff)

and spent
his extra minutes
driving up the hill,
warmed his coffee
and gave me mine,
(and other fattening stuff)

a brief
kiss
(and smile and look)
and he
was
back down the hill
another stolen moment

the building blocks of life.

MeeAugraphie

These blocks were stacked by me, please stack your own rather than mine. . . it will be more fun for you - that way - you can stack the ones you choose. Feel free to link back if my words catch your eye.

Sleep, Defined

acute awareness
peppered with thoughtless tossing
definition, sleep

lazy shift toward
regeneration of self
dreams behind veiled eyes

bodies meld as one
from heat captured and released
souls dream together

16. As a Result

As a Result

Your fiery tongue
seers my mind,
sends shivers
down my spine.

I feel heat rise
in my body,
my brain demands
I look away,
remain uncaught,
like naughty children
my eyes disobey.

My words
catch in my throat
but are soon
released

along with
my dinner.

Why
can't
you
eat
with
your
mouth
CLOSED
?

13. Tears - Thinking Blogger Award

This poem was prompted by both a success and failure all tied into one part of living, ironic how something that brings such joy can bring so much personal frustration and also the aura around me that I am ungrateful, when in reality it is that I am so grateful I try too hard to make my reply perfect, and take the responsibility of the tag so much to heart, I begin a search to find someone who has NOT been tagged, so they, too, could get the thrill I got! I get so lost in their words, I forget I am searching and continue the search and get lost again. It is a personality flaw, and when I try to see the positive in it, I realize how many wonderful words I got to read in my search. But reality is, well, I don't need to tell you, it is here on the internet for all to see. You would think after 57 years and 14 days, I would get it right. Thank goodness I have nearly 57 more years to try!

The ironic thing, is Shelly tagged me first, noting my poetry, and linked to this blog, Shelby just tagged me as her favorite word tumbler, and linked to Tumbled Words, one of my other blogs she reads. So, I guess y'all believe I think, but will realize I just don't know how to act! And they are both writers I read every word of, and take to heart. I originally wrote thanking Shelly, now, to thank Shelby at Time With Shelby.

Shelby, the blinding glow around me just got brighter, all the words I wrote on MeeAugraphie, I repeat for you. I could not write them better or different for my heart is still my heart in the link below.

I am posting the words I originally wrote, but was holding on to until I figured out how to add the "Award" so the tagged writers would be able to get theirs. . . I tried for hours to figure it out, most links here someone has configured already. I even emailed someone (not the "She's", begging for help, but have not yet received it. . . So, without the tags yet given, I throw aside my perfectionist that lives deep inside and comes out at the worst possible times, without the link, I am now posting my incomplete post here: I still suck at this!

The poem inspired by all this.

Tears

Sunshine rain bounces
off my stomach into my heart

Light Rain trickles gently
down my cheek

Ice rain pelts my face,
bounces from my heart

Hot rain burns
my skin, inflames my mind

Monsoon rain blows
through my scalp into my brain

Too, Too, Too!

too many bloggers
too little time
when hours are spent
finding rhymes for thyme.

too many candies
waiting to taste
too many pounds
would be added to waist.

too many flowers
to plant in a yard
too little money
bet on that card.

too many dreams
to fit in my life
too many excuses
to cut through with a knife

too many words
threaten to clutter
too many pages
in the wind, flutter

too many verses
of a say nothing missive
must promise myself
to be less permissive.
